I made the reference to Howard's Stygians to give the flavor of the culture. <br /><br />Modifiers from attributes:<br />STR -1 to hit and -1 damage in melee, succeed 1:6 (1 chance in 6) on tests of strength, and 1% of the time on extraordinary feats of strength. <br />DEX: No missile attack modifier or defense adjustment for Dex, 2:6 on tests of dexterity, 4% extraordinary feats of Dex. <br />CON: +1 HP per die, +1 to Death saves vs poison or radiation, 85% trauma survival (depetrification, resurrection, etc), 3:6 tests of constitution, 16% extraordinary feats of constitution, <br />INT: He'll know Common and Ixian, and learn new mage or necro spells with 50% success outside the base learning at level up. <br />WIS: His Willpower adjustment to some saving throws is 0. He'll get one additional first level cleric/druid spell per day. He'll have a 65% chance when learning his cleric/druid side spells. <br />CHA: Reaction/Loyalty adjustment is 0, max of 4 henchmen, undead turning +0. <br /><br />Shaman:<br />D6 HD<br />Allowed armor: light, no shields<br />Favored weapons: Axe(hand), blowgun, bola, boomerang, bow(short), club(light, war), dagger, hooked throwing knife, quarterstaff, sling, spear(long, short), Trident<br />Saving throws 16 at level 1, +2 to rolls on Death (+3 vs poison or radiation because of CON) or Sorcery saves.<br /><br />As a shaman, he will need to decide whether to cast cleric or druid spells and magician or necromancer spells. <br />Alignment, any save Lawful, Necromantic Shamans are Chaotic Evil or Neutral. <br /><br />At level 1 he'll have one cleric level 1 spell slot (+1 more for his WIS). Fighting ability 0, casting ability 1, no turning ability.<br /><br />Level 2 comes at 2500 XP, and will give his first mage or necro side level 1 spell slot. Casting ability 2<br /><br />Level 3 (5000 XP) will give him a 2nd level cleric spell slot. Fighting ability 1, Turning ability 1, Casting ability 3<br /><br />At Level 12 he'll have a half sized spell slot list (2s and 1s) on the divine side and a half sized list on the arcane side, all the way to a 6th level spell slot for each.<br /><br />Class Abilities:<br />Draw Poison (venomous bites and stings)<br />Magic Item use: Magician restricted magic items except spell scrolls<br />Medicine Man (extended descriptive paragraph about how and what he can treat in poisonings, illnesses and injuries)<br />Read Magic (inscriptions, marks, and symbols)<br />Read Scrolls- shamanic scrolls for his two schools<br />Scribe shamanic scrolls of his schools.<br />Sorcery: Begin with knowledge of 1 first level <br />Totem: a clan sacred animal, plant or other natural object, with related inscriptions and depictions, taboos, the spirit of which he can commune with at some cost once per week for guidance.<br />At 9th acquire an initiate to train<br />At 11th gain extended longevity<br /><br />As a shaman he's probably from one of the outlying villages on the big island of Scythium, in the western sea near the edge of the world, and not from the Ixian capital, Fazzuum, or from an exiled family in a village near the great mixing pot city of Khromarium downmap on the main Hyperborian continent or in the Zakath desert near Yithorium up/east.Ed Allenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09627812364407769994noreply@blogger.com
